Guatemala, located in Central America, shares its borders with Mexico, Belize, Honduras, and El Salvador. The country boasts coastlines on both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, offering around 400 km of shoreline. Home primarily to people of Mestizo and European descent (59.4%), Guatemala is also celebrated for its many Maya communities. While Catholicism and Protestantism are the main religions, traditional Maya beliefs remain vibrant throughout the country. The best time to visit is during the dry season, from November to April, when temperatures range from 20 to 30 °C. Highlights include the impressive Tajumulco Volcano and the scenic Lake Izabal.
